A church with a difference

I have shown you Greek churches before, but this one is a little different. It's the church of Agia Foteini in Mantineia, in central Peloponnese.

Agia Foteini was built in the early 70's in a unique greco-byzantine style to match the Ancient Greek ruins in its vicinity. It's become very popular with locals and tourists alike, as it's so unusual.

Some call it the wonky church, others call it the Chinese church (due to its vague resemblance to a pagoda), but of course it's neither wonky, nor Chinese.

I can understand the funny names, they aren't so inappropriate, but this is really an incredible church! Not only the strange form, but the erratic brickwork (or stonework) look like something built by drunk carpenters.
Obviously I like this church and I'd like to know something more.

Thanks for sharing. I agree with exposemaximum. The second shot is best.

@ Vogon Poet: Your comment about the drunk carpeters made me laugh out loud :-)

What else would you like to know about the church?

@ Exposemaximum: Also temples, mosques etc. There's something about buildings of worship that makes them very photogenic.

@ Gattina: I've certainly never seen one as strange as this!

@ Per Stromsjo: The angle is better in the second shot, but IMO the exposure is better in the first shot. That's why I posted both, because I couldn't decide which one to go for, then I thought I might as well add the third one and show you what it looks like from all sides.
