Multicolour whatsits

I saw this photo Gena posted for Color Carnival, and was inspired to find a colourful one of my own for today's post. I couldn't for the life of me work out how to link in to the Color Carnival website, but here it is anyway.

I took this photo in Paris last May. No idea what it shows. Any suggestions?

I don't know what these are but they look cool anyway! :-)

I have seen this, or one like this, near the Beaubourg, opposite the Starbucks of rue Aubry Le Boucher.
It's recent, I don't know if it is, like the aliens mosaics of 2004, inspired by a videogame.

@ JM: My feelings exactly :-)

@ VP: Now that I think of it, I may well have been near the Beaubourg when I took this photo. The videogame makes sense too. Thanks!

It has to be computer-related (and look at the trash can icon). But what the heck is that red snake thing? I like it, unless I find out it's some kind of evil symbol for bad guys. Video game may be right, in which case, the bad guys can stay. You wouldn't want to off good guys with the mouse button :)

@ Tapirgal: You know what, I'd not even noticed the trash can icon!! Thanks for pointing it out.

Verrrry interesting. I have no idea what they represent either...perhaps toilets for very tall, very thin people?

@ Marg: Have you worked out how to join?

@ Deepak: It's certainly eye catching. Glad you like it.

@ Gena: I think I'm stuck. Ho hum.

@ Jacob: Ι love your explanation the best :-) Do you think it's toilet humour? Hee hee.
