Millennium Dome, take 2

Last Thursday I had another go at talking a picture of the Millennium Dome at night time. It's not the most successful shot ever, but at least you can see the green beam more clearly.

The beam marks the Prime Meridian, i.e. the line at which the longitude is defined to be 0°. The Prime Meridian passes through the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, located on a hill diagonally behind the spot where I stood to take this photo.

Take 1 can be seen here.

Not a bad shot at all, I like it. What was going on inside? The last time I went there in winter they even got an ice rink!

@ Gena: Thank you!

@ Vogon Poet: You know, I've never actually been inside the Dome?

What a cool looking building. I have the hardest time trying to take pictures at night. I've decided to do some research and/or buy a tripod. This night shot looks better than most of mine.

Wow, a visible meridian!

Gee, it's been too long. This Dome was just a messy construction project when I spent a week in London in 1998.

Great photo, Tinsie!

@ James: I tend to find something (anything) to balance the camera on for night shots: a table, a dustbin, railings, any flat surface really. It's almost impossible to take a sharp shot otherwise.

@ Per Stromsjo: I think it's fair to say that it's come a long, long way since then :-)

@ JM: Thanks!
