Cherries

Cherry season is at its peak and cherry trees are full of big, juicy fruits. For a cherry lover like me, it's the perfect time to be in Greece. Cherries sold in England are usually imported from Turkey or the US, are very expensive and not nearly as nice as the ones you pick straight from a tree. Yum.

Seagulls

These seagulls following our boat all the way from the island of Aegina into Athens looked like the might land on us, but thankfully we escaped unscathed.

A traditional corner shop turned delicatessen in Plaka, the old area of Athens. I didn't go in, but thought it looked quite pretty.

Varkiza beach

Travel for 55 minutes on public transport (metro & bus) from the centre of Athens, and this is where you arrive.

The water's still a bit cold, but very refreshing on a hot day.

At the movies

Tonight my friend Kathy and I went to see a film. This is a picture I took as we were leaving the cinema. I'm not sure if these buildings are part of the cinema complex, or shops, or even residential.

We watched Angels & Demons which we both thought was quite good.
