This is a river view of the Docklands, once part of the Port of London, now redeveloped principally for commercial and residential use. I snapped this picture while travelling to Greenwich on a river boat.
The tall building with the pointy roof is Canary Wharf, which I've previously shown you here. You can see a different view of the Docklands here.
This time we trampled on foot half of of the Isle of Dogs. Nice to see the perspective from a boat. By the way, many more boats on the Thames now, what happened?
ReplyDeleteI know, the Thames is much busier these days. There are lots more tourist cruises (most of them linked to the hop-on, hop-off bus tours) as well as regular commuter services by Thames Clippers and others. I'd only been on a boat once in the last ten years, then this year alone I've been 3 times!
ReplyDeleteYou got even the DuckTours with the amphibious bus: they are funny, but I don't think I ever take one of that!
ReplyDeleteThey're not as bad as they look! I took one once and although I was dreading it, in the end it was fine. Very uneventful on entering and exiting the Thames, which was the main thing :-)
ReplyDeleteUnusual but very effective shot!
